Nikos Mamoulis received a 5-year diploma in Computer Engineering from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department, University of Patras, Greece, in 1995 an a PhD from the Computer Science Department, HKUST in 2000. He was a post-doctoral researcher at the Dutch national center for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI) from 2000 to 2001 and a faculty member at the Department of Computer Science, University of Hong Kong from 2001 to 2014. Since 2014 he has been with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Ioannina. His research interests include database systems; management and mining of complex data types including spatial, spatio-temporal, time-series, and text data; privacy and security in databases.
