Dimitris Tsesmelis
PhD Candidate
Dimitris graduated from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2018, completing his BSc studies in Informatics and Telecommunications with a GPA of 9.01, ranking him 2nd in his graduate class. Following, he worked as an Application Development Associate at Accenture, assigned to a data warehouse project for a major Greek bank, gaining expertise in SQL and data warehouse concepts as well as valuable business knowledge. Having excellent competences and academic background, he was awarded an Erasmus Mundus Programme Category Scholarship to follow a MSc in Big Data Management and Analytics, provided by Université libre de Bruxelles, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and CentraleSupélec. He successfully graduated in 2021 with a competitive GPA of 8.4. Currently he is an early stage researcher at Athena Research Center, within the Data Engineering for Data Science PhD / Marie Skłodowska-Curie program. Few of his scientific interests are data management, distributed system, and machine learning.
